Warehouse Manager

We are looking for an effective Warehouse Manager  for 3,000 meters  stockroom
to direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations.
In this role, you will oversee the daily operation of the retail warehouse, the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products.

Responsibilities

Maintains and organizes merchandise in the warehouse in a neat and orderly manner and ensure efficient space utilization
Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
Maintaining automated storage and retrieval systems
Understand performance metrics, data, and order and inventory trends.
Responsible for receiving, distribution, and transferring physical inventory and merchandising of goods; maintaining the delivery log, checking all items versus the
packing slip, ensuring all items are properly tagged, receiving all items into software programs.
Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, associates).
Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility
Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility
Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations.
Ensuring security arrangements are in place
Scheduling equipment maintenance and replacing when required
Ensuring products are stocked correctly and safely (especially chemicals and food, that could be pretty dangerous)
Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leaders
Ensure individual and all team performance meets objectives and client expectations
Identify client needs and communicate operational progress.
Ensure the completion and maintenance of P&L statements.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Immediate supervisor of delivery drivers and warehouse workers, including temporary labor

Skills/Experience

  • 10+ years warehouse management experience.
  • Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Previous experience with Excel or similar database management computer systems required.
  • Ability to work with all levels of company staff.
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership skills and ability manage staff.
